A Different Kind of Tired
This week has been full.
Monday was our first golf league night of the season. Tuesday, after golf lessons, my sister joined us for dinner overlooking the lake. Wednesday was Mahjong night on the patio, with two tables going and three new people joining the fun. And tonight I’m headed to the wine bar for game night.
As I was drinking my coffee this morning, I realized I’m tired—but it’s a different kind of tired than I’ve felt in a long time.
Not the tired that comes from stress or constantly feeling behind.
The kind that comes from spending time doing things you genuinely enjoy.
Golf. Mahjong. Conversations with friends. Summer evenings by the water. Looking forward to what’s on the calendar instead of worrying about it.
For a long time, it felt like there was always something that needed my attention. This week reminded me how good it feels to make room for things that bring joy, connection, and a sense of belonging.
The moments themselves may seem small, but when you put enough of them together, they start to feel like a life you’re excited to wake up to.
And I think that’s what this next chapter is really about.
