Back in the Swing of Things

Golf lessons started back up this week, which honestly feels like the unofficial start of the season around here.

Golf bags are back in cars, people are starting to head back out to the course again, and conversations quickly turn into who’s already been golfing, who bought new clubs, and who thinks this might finally be the year everything clicks.

Last night I ran into a few people I hadn’t seen since last season, catching up on winter travels, life updates, and whether anyone had actually managed to golf somewhere warm over the winter.

This is my fourth year taking lessons, and every season I feel a little more comfortable stepping back into it all.

Last year was my first year playing in league, and I’m doing it again this summer with the same partner. Honestly, half the fun is just getting to spend the evenings together catching up, laughing through bad shots, and being out on the course again.

The custom golf balls with Maple’s face on them definitely help too. They were a Christmas gift along with a few other golf surprises, and honestly they make me smile every time I pull one out of my bag.

Before lessons, Maple and I went for a long walk, and it just felt good to get outside after another workday - especially knowing the evening would end with sunshine, golf, and time with good friends.

Lessons went really well, dinner afterward was even better, and we ended the night sitting on the patio watching the sunset over the lake.

Honestly, it felt like the perfect way to ease back into the season again. 🤍
